British Columbia Artisan Winemakers Association
BC Provincial Wine Competition
On September 16th 1972, members from ten BC winemaking clubs met in Penticton to consider the recommendation from a previously formed “investigating committee” to create an association of BC amateur winemaking clubs. The proposed association would assist in organizing meetings involving all clubs and assist in organizing a B.C. amateur winemaker’s competition. The members approved the proposal and the British Columbia Amateur Winemakers Association (BCAWA) was formed.
The date of the first Provincial Competition was set for May 26th 1973 and has been held in the spring of each year ever since - this year marks the **** annual competition.
